Clue Murder Mystery

Mr. Boddy requests your presence for an evening of mystery. Was it Mrs. Peacock with the rope in the library? Attend the event on Saturday, October 27 at 6:00 p.m. to play a life-size version of the classic board game to find out. After the murderer is revealed, stay and watch the 1985 Clue movie starring Tim Curry.

Costumes are not necessary but welcome! For ages 18 and up. Call “Boddy Manor” for more information and to register: 785-742-3831.

Sign Up for 1000 Books Before Kindergarten!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a free program that encourages parents and caregivers to read 1000 books with your child before he or she enters school – a goal experts say helps children learn to read for themselves.

Register at the Library to receive your information folder and first reading log. Bring completed logs to the Library to advance your child’s name on the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten mural, and pick up your next log!

Read at your own pace:
1 book daily = finished in 3 years
3 books per day = finished in one year!

Any book read to your child counts, whether you read it, a teacher reads it, or a librarian during storytime reads it! You can even re-read your child’s favorite book.

Prizes Along the Way:
100 books – receive a cloth book bag
500 books – receive a book!
1000 books – receive a T-shirt and a certificate
