Sign Up for 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a free program that encourages parents and caregivers to read 1,000 books with your child before he or she enters school – a goal experts say helps children learn to read for themselves.
Register at the Library to learn more about this program and to sign up using Beanstack, the library’s digital reading tracking platform! Once you complete the milestones below, come in to the library to claim your prizes! Prizes Along the Way:
100 books – receive a cloth book bag
500 books – receive a book!
1,000 books – receive a T-shirt and a certificate
Read at your own pace:
1 book daily = finished in 3 years
3 books per day = finished in one year!
Any book read to your child counts, whether you read it, a teacher reads it, or a librarian during storytime reads it! You can even re-read your child’s favorite book.
